The Ironman Itinerary

Running the race is only one part, albeit the hardest part, of completing an Ironman. The other part is the support structure and family surrounding you which comes with complex timing and organization. Thanks to my wonderful wife, we sorted this all out pretty well.

So You Want to Train for a Full 140.6 Ironman

In April of 2015 it was time to begin serious training for the Ironman Vineman that was to take place on July 25th of that same year. I had done two triathlons leading up to this event, one Olympic distance in 2013 and one Half-Iron in 2014 but nothing could prepare me for the massive… Continue reading So You Want to Train for a Full 140.6 Ironman

One Year On My Little Fuji

One year ago today I rode my Fuji Newest 1.o for the first time. I had not ridden a bike since middle school and never a road bike. It was a different feeling to be on a road bike, lighter and more connected to the ride. When I first started riding on my Fuji, the… Continue reading One Year On My Little Fuji

Pacific Grove Triathlon Training Plan: July 2013

Well this training plan is getting a bit beat up. With a newborn who doesn't sleep more than four or five hours and trying to get multiple workouts in each morning I have been getting a bit run down. Wildflower Triathlon 2013: Training Recap

While I was unable to actually run the Wildflower 2013 Olympic Distance Triathlon this year (You can see why in this post: Triathlons and Babies) I did train for 20 weeks and I was sure that I was ready for the race because of my training plan. Since I was very much out of shape the… Continue reading Wildflower Triathlon 2013: Training Recap

Best Laid Plans: Triathlons and Babies

For 20 long weeks I trained for the Wildflower Triathlon going from almost an inability to swim and lackadaisical running and cycling to 3000 meter swims, 50 mile rides, and 10 mile runs all in one week. After 18 weeks of building, my level of fitness skyrocketed and I dropped 20 pounds. The training was… Continue reading Best Laid Plans: Triathlons and Babies

Wildflower Triathlon Training Plan: April 2013

***Help motivate me to keep training by donating here to my charity, No Kid Hungry*** Well it's finally here, the last month of training! This past month was a tough one to get through. Things were going well at the start, I was strong and losing weight but then I got cocky. The morning after a 40 mile… Continue reading Wildflower Triathlon Training Plan: April 2013
